Owing to the brilliant ageless music of The Cinematic Orchestra(CO) and The London Metropolitan Orchestra(LMO), we now have a moving, well documented, memorable storyline and much better scientific understanding about the strikingly colorful, majestic, and at times, enviromentally inconspicious flamingo bird - a comprehensive look into just how these secretive, wondrous, misunderstood creatures commune, reproduce and survive planet earth. The Crimson Wing: Mystery of the Flamingos is a powerfully evocative soundtrack set to the French documentary film (Les Ailes Pourpres: Le Mystère Des Flamants). This elaborate score illuminates the many awe-inspiring riddles explored in the motion picture such as the flamingo's ability to detect rain 500km away, eating with their heads positioned upside-down and whilst being born black and white, how they attain their highly admirable pink shade. This album won Best Music Score for a Documentary Film at the Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival and was also nominated for an IFMCA Best Original Score for a Documentary Film Award. Unanimously regraded as some of Cinematic Orchestra's best work, their collaboration with The London Metropolitan Orchestra (LMO) on this project guranteed the deliverance of rudimental, non-negotiable, deep-seated, emotive orchestral content that will be remembered forever. It's an intrepidly beautiful collection of exquisitely assembled songs centered around the themes of nature, love, survival and unwaivering belief.

The Cinematic Orchestra were formed by Jason Swinscoe and currently includes Patrick Carpenter, Luke Flowers on drums, Tom Chant on saxophone, Nick Ramm on piano, Stuart McCallum on guitar, and Phil France on double bass as it's members and are featured here courtesy of the LMO. The London Metropolitan Orchestra is London's finest multimedia orchestra and has been engaged by all the major Hollywood studios and worldwide record companies since its formation in 1994. Andy Brown, Music Director of LMO, has directed the orchestra in numerous studio recordings, live performances and TV broadcasts. He has also directed numerous film scores with LMO including Gangs of New York (which received 10 Oscar nominations), Layer Cake, the Oscar nominated film Closer,  Stardust, The Young Victoria, Babylon A.D, The Boat That Rocked,  Kick-Ass, About Time, and 47 Ronin.  It truly is our greatest pleasure to sit down and interview Mr. Brown and have him debut our very first upcoming Q&A column regarding his very expansive experiences. The LMO as an orchestra employs London’s best musicians renowned for their virtuosity, combining to give universally acclaimed performances. The LMO has also worked with many of film music’s best known and celebrated composers gaining worldwide recognition for it's numerous television soundtracks including the multiple award winning Band of Brothers and Inspector Morse and has collaborated on recordings and live performances with international artists including: Paul McCartney, U2, Eric Clapton, Annie Lennox, Sting, Bryan Adams, Quincy Jones, Pink Floyd, Jon Bon Jovi, Vangelis, Simply Red, Pet Shop Boys and The Last Shadow Puppets .
