At a time when the widely used aphorisms "Time is Money" and "every minute counts" prevail as conventional wisdom, PICTO are headed the diametrically opposite direction challenging the traditional understanding of a mechanical watch and it's readings. PICTO means picture and the name is appropriately well chosen given it's minimalist clean graphics. With PICTO you are not a slave of time. Your days are no longer divided into minutes and seconds, It is rather an indication of time. The hour is marked with a dot on the rotating dial, while the minutes are indicated by a conventional hand. When PICTO was launched in 1984, it quickly became a sensation on the design scene and more than 30 years later it still manages to stand out with it's minimal dial.
